Please register at meetup.com/UXvienna.

At the next meetup in November 2024 we meet at BarnVentures at Alpenmilchzentrale in Vienna. This time we have two interesting talks.

Spot the Deceptive Pattern

by Alicia Holla, Product Designer @ Innovatrics

This talk dives into the world of dark patterns—sneaky design tricks used to mislead users. After a quick intro, get ready for an interactive session with real examples to spot. It’s a chance to sharpen your design instincts and rethink how we approach ethical design.

🕶️Navigating the Unseen Web: Accessibility Demo with Live Reactions

by Paweł Masarczyk, Accessibility and Experience Expert @ WIENFLUSS information.design.solutions KG

In this talk, Paweł Masarczyk demonstrates the significance of digital accessibility and universal design in an unexpected twist – by dealing with whatever is thrown at him and testing web experiences proposed by the audience. In this 30-minute presentation, you can hear your favorite services, projects you are working on or have committed to experienced from the perspective of a screen reader user. Paweł will also share his personal insights about using the web as a person who was born blind.
Together, we will take a look at some basic screen reader accessibility principles and how they correlate to the upcoming EU legislation in this regard and the humane act of designing interfaces that are functional for every user, regardless of their accessibility needs.
